Abridged Review
Having already thought about, discussed and agreed we would like a Labrador. Our criteria was a fit healthy puppy, true to type first and foremost, preferably a golden bitch.
We searched for “puppies Thailand’ on the internet. Top of the list was a competitor’s web site.. Initially things looked interesting until I started reading about delivery. They think it acceptable to take a puppy away from it’s siblings. everything they’ve ever known and put it in a crate and fly it to a local airport to be collected. In my opinion for what it’s worth that is totally unacceptable, bordering on cruel. Needless to say they wouldn’t be getting our business so I opened the second entry on the list, thailandpuppies.com.
The first thing I looked for was delivery before I read anything more. “These people are talking my language” I thought so I read further. After a short conversation we decided I should complete the online application.
Thanks to Thailand Puppiies’ care and professionalism, our criteria has been met. We have a strong, fit, healthy, true to type Labrador bitch puppy called Kaew.
Thank you again for your help, professionalism and above all the care.
If anybody reading this is considering buying a puppy from Craig and Kanokporn I suggest you go ahead without delay then you will as happy and delighted as we are I’m sure.
When Simon showed this picture to his wife of what their new puppy had done to this pillow, she shouted, "why didn't you stop her instead of filming her". To which Simon replied, "if I stopped her I couldn't film her".
Who’s really the naughty one here? Simon or Kaew?
In Simon’s words, I showed this video to Mali. She shouted, "why didn't you stop her instead of filming her". I said, "if I stopped her I couldn't film her". She growled at me and I'm getting the silent treatment. After fifteen years she should know my warped sense of humour by now.
Puppies will be puppies, and they can be curious and destructive. And though this is a habit that certainly needs to be broken ASAP, can you really blame Simon for wanting to get this moment on film?
The Whole Story
We decided our house had been empty for too long. Further to being forced by cancer to say goodbye to our dog Chowkwai, we always knew we would have another dog but didn’t know when.
We had already spoken about the type of dog that would fit our lifestyle. Chowkwai was a cross breed we rescued from the roadside who was headstrong, my wife found him difficult on her own at times, particularly in his youth. I grew up with and have owned dogs all my life, Beagles, Basenji’s and Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen’s, all scent hounds and headstrong. At our age we wanted something easier to train and I recalled my parents had a Labrador when I was a child and she was easy to train by comparison, even for me as a ten year old.
Having already thought about, discussed and agreed we would like a Labrador, over dinner one Saturday evening we decided the time had come to start research. Mindful we weren't going to the supermarket, we realised we could be waiting some time to get what we wanted. Our criteria was a fit healthy puppy, true to type first and foremost, preferably a golden bitch.
How to source a Labrador puppy in Thailand? First port of call internet, search ‘puppies Thailand’. Top of the list was a competitors web site. Opened their site and started reading to try and get an idea what we would get for our money.
The next morning, Monday, I received a call from one of the owners, who obviously caring about the dogs they sell, wanted to know more about our lifestyle and requirements. I must have made the right noises because he moved on to tell me what Labrador puppies were available. Some eight week old golden boys, a bitch was not set in stone, but there was a twelve week old golden girl available. They sent me photographs of the boys and the girl, I could have bought them all but head has to rule heart, stick with what was agreed, a golden girl
The owners explained that they were in Udon Thani and that they could collect the puppy themselves and bring her to us the next day. Expecting to have to wait weeks, if not months for what we wanted I can only assume God and Buddha together were smiling on us.
Forty eight hours from my initial online inquiry we would have our puppy. Throughout Monday and Tuesday I was kept informed about progress until we met in town on the Tuesday lunchtime. After their long drive from Udon Thani to Nakhon Phanom the least I could do was stand them lunch, what a delightful couple.
Thanks to Craig and Kanokporn’s care and professionalism our criteria has been met. We have a strong, fit, healthy, true to type Labrador bitch puppy called Kaew, that wasn't expected to endure an aeroplane to meet her new Mum and Dad and her new home.
She has fitted in perfectly, possibly beyond expectations of a puppy. She has already made her mark positively within the village, anybody who wants to know where our house is just ask any villager where to fine Kaew. Nobody reading this will agree with me, but we not only own the best Labrador in the world, she’s the best dog in the world.
I did mute the idea the other day that Kaew might like a play mate, I know exactly where to find one. No was the answer, I thought I’d taught Mali the difference between no and I’ll think about it. Watch this space!!!
Thank you again for your help, professionalism and above all the care so obviously displayed. Perfect.
If anybody reading this is considering buying a puppy from Craig and Kanokporn I suggest you go ahead without delay then you will as happy and delighted as we are I’m sure.
I almost forgot, Kaew told me to thank to you both for everything you did for her.
